ואילין פתגמי נבואת דוד דאתנבי לסוף עלמא ליוסי נחמתא דעתידין למיתי אמר דוד בר ישי ואמר גברא דמרבא למלכו משיחא במימר אלהיה דיעקב ותקין למימני בחיך מבוסם תושבחתיה דישראל:
dyshral thwshbkhthyh mbwsm bkhyk lmymny wthqyn dyeqb alhyh bmymr mshykha lmlkw dmrba gbra wamr yshy br dwd amr lmythy dethydyn nkhmtha lywsy elma lswp dathnby dwd nbwath pthgmy waylyn
Now these are the last words of David. David the son of Jesse says, the man who was raised on high says, the anointed of the God of Jacob, the sweet psalmist of Israel:

אמר דוד ברוח נבואה דיי אנא ממליל אלין ופתגמי קודשיה בפומי אנא סדר:
sdr ana bpwmy qwdshyh wpthgmy alyn mmlyl ana dyy nbwah brwkh dwd amr
“Yahweh’s Spirit spoke by me. His word was on my tongue.

אמר דוד אלהא דישראל עלי מליל תקיפא דישראל דשליט בבני אנשא קושטא דאין אמר למנאה לי מלכא דהוא משיחא דעתיד דיקום וישלוט בדחלתא דיי:
dyy bdkhltha wyshlwT dyqwm dethyd mshykha dhwa mlka ly lmnah amr dayn qwshTa ansha bbny dshlyT dyshral thqypa mlyl ely dyshral alha dwd amr
The God of Israel said, the Rock of Israel spoke to me, ‘One who rules over men righteously, who rules in the fear of God,

טוביכון צדיקיא עבדתון לכון עובדין טבין דאתון עתידין לאנהרא בזיהור יקריה כנהור צפרא דאזיל ותקין וכשימשא דעתיד לאנהרא כזיהור יקריה על חד תלת מאה ארבעין ותלתא כנהור שבעת כוכביא שבעת יומיא יתיר מכדין תתרבון וייטב לכון דהויתון מחמדין לשני נחמתא דאתין הא כאכרא דמסובר בשני בצורתא דיחות מיטרא על ארעא:
area el myTra dykhwth btswrtha bshny dmswbr kakra ha dathyn nkhmtha lshny mkhmdyn dhwythwn lkwn wyyTb ththrbwn mkdyn ythyr ywmya shbeth kwkbya shbeth knhwr wthltha arbeyn mah thlth khd el yqryh kzyhwr lanhra dethyd wkshymsha wthqyn dazyl tspra knhwr yqryh bzyhwr lanhra ethydyn dathwn Tbyn ewbdyn lkwn ebdthwn tsdyqya Twbykwn
shall be as the light of the morning when the sun rises, a morning without clouds, when the tender grass springs out of the earth, through clear shining after rain.’

אמר דוד יתירא מבכין ביתי קדם אל ארי קיים עלם קיים לי למהוי מלכותי קיימא כמא דקיימין סידרי בראשית ונטירא לעלמא דאתי ארי כל צרכי וכל בעותי קדמוהי מתעבדין בכן כל מלכו לקבליה עוד לא תתקיים:
ththqyym la ewd lqblyh mlkw kl bkn mthebdyn qdmwhy bewthy wkl tsrky kl ary dathy lelma wnTyra brashyth sydry dqyymyn kma qyyma mlkwthy lmhwy ly qyym elm qyym ary al qdm bythy mbkyn ythyra dwd amr
Isn’t my house so with God? Yet he has made with me an everlasting covenant, ordered in all things, and sure, for it is all my salvation and all my desire. Won’t he make it grow?

ורשיעיא עבדי חטאה דמן לכבין דבמפקהון רכיכין למקטף וכד אנש חיס עליהון ושביק להון אזלין ותקפין עד דלית אפשר למקרב להון ביד:
byd lhwn lmqrb apshr dlyth ed wthqpyn azlyn lhwn wshbyq elyhwn khys ansh wkd lmqTp rkykyn dbmpqhwn lkbyn dmn khTah ebdy wrshyeya
But all the ungodly will be as thorns to be thrust away, because they can’t be taken with the hand.

ואף כל אנש דמשרי למיקרב בחובין אזלין ותקפין עלוהי עד דחפין ליה כלבוש דפרזלא דלא יכלין ליה באעי מורנין ורומחין בכין לית פורענותהון ביד אנש אלהין באשתא עתידין לאתוקדא יתוקדון באתגלאה בית דינא רבא למתב על כורסי דינא למידן ית עלמא:
elma yth lmydn dyna kwrsy el lmthb rba dyna byth bathglah ythwqdwn lathwqda ethydyn bashtha alhyn ansh byd pwrenwthhwn lyth bkyn wrwmkhyn mwrnyn baey lyh yklyn dla dprzla klbwsh lyh dkhpyn ed elwhy wthqpyn azlyn bkhwbyn lmyqrb dmshry ansh kl wap
The man who touches them must be armed with iron and the staff of a spear. They will be utterly burned with fire in their place.”

אלין שמהת גבריא דהוו עם דוד גברא ריש משריתא יתיב על כורסי דינא וכל נביאיא וסכיא מקפין ליה משיח במשח קודשא בחיר ומפנק שפיר בריויה ויאי בחזויה חכים בחוכמתא וסוכלתן בעצה גבר בגברותא ריש גבריא הוא מתקן במני זינא נפק בפום קלא ונצח בקרבא ומתביב על ידי מורניתיה תמני מאה קטילין בזמנא חדא:
khda bzmna qTylyn mah thmny mwrnythyh ydy el wmthbyb bqrba wntskh qla bpwm npq zyna bmny mthqn hwa gbrya rysh bgbrwtha gbr betsh wswklthn bkhwkmtha khkym bkhzwyh wyay brywyh shpyr wmpnq bkhyr qwdsha bmshkh mshykh lyh mqpyn wskya nbyaya wkl dyna kwrsy el ythyb mshrytha rysh gbra dwd em dhww gbrya shmhth alyn
These are the names of the mighty men whom David had: Josheb Basshebeth a Tahchemonite, chief of the captains; he was called Adino the Eznite, who killed eight hundred at one time.

ובתרוהי אלעזר בר דודו בר אחוהי בתלתא גבריא עם דוד כד חסידו פלשתאי ואתכנישו תמן לאגחא קרבא וסליקו אנש ישראל:
yshral ansh wslyqw qrba lagkha thmn wathknyshw plshthay khsydw kd dwd em gbrya bthltha akhwhy br dwdw br alezr wbthrwhy
After him was Eleazar the son of Dodai the son of an Ahohite, one of the three mighty men with David when they defied the Philistines who were there gathered together to battle, and the men of Israel had gone away.

הוא קם וקטל בפלשתאי עד דלאית ידיה ואדביקת ידיה עם חרבא ועבד יי פורקנא רבא ביומא ההוא ועמא תב בתרוהי ברם לחלצא קטיליא:
qTylya lkhltsa brm bthrwhy thb wema hhwa bywma rba pwrqna yy webd khrba em ydyh wadbyqth ydyh dlayth ed bplshthay wqTl qm hwa
He arose and struck the Philistines until his hand was weary, and his hand froze to the sword; and Yahweh worked a great victory that day; and the people returned after him only to take plunder.

ובתרוהי שמה בר אגא דמן הרר טוראה ואתכנישו פלשתאי לחיתא והות תמן אחסנת חקלא מליא טלופחין ועמא אפך מן קדם פלשתאי:
plshthay qdm mn apk wema Tlwpkhyn mlya khqla akhsnth thmn whwth lkhytha plshthay wathknyshw Twrah hrr dmn aga br shmh wbthrwhy
After him was Shammah the son of Agee a Hararite. The Philistines had gathered together into a troop where there was a plot of ground full of lentils; and the people fled from the Philistines.

ואתעתד בגו אחסנתא ושיזביה וקטל ית פלשתאי ועבד יי פורקנא רבא:
rba pwrqna yy webd plshthay yth wqTl wshyzbyh akhsntha bgw wathethd
But he stood in the middle of the plot and defended it, and killed the Philistines; and Yahweh worked a great victory.

ונחתו תלתא גבריא מגברי רישי משריתא ואתו לחצדא לות דוד למערת עדלם ומשרית פלשתאי שריא במישר גבריא:
gbrya bmyshr shrya plshthay wmshryth edlm lmerth dwd lwth lkhtsda wathw mshrytha ryshy mgbry gbrya thltha wnkhthw
Three of the thirty chief men went down, and came to David in the harvest time to the cave of Adullam; and the troop of the Philistines was encamped in the valley of Rephaim.

ודוד בכן בחקרא ואסטרטיג פלשתאי בכן בבית לחם:
lkhm bbyth bkn plshthay wasTrTyg bkhqra bkn wdwd
David was then in the stronghold; and the garrison of the Philistines was then in Bethlehem.
15
וחמידת נפשא דדוד ואמר מן ישקינני מיא מגובא דבית לחם די בתרעא:
bthrea dy lkhm dbyth mgwba mya yshqynny mn wamr ddwd npsha wkhmydth
David said longingly, “Oh that someone would give me water to drink from the well of Bethlehem, which is by the gate!”

ובזעו תלתא גבריא במשרית פלשתאי ומלו מיא מגובא דבית לחם דבתרעא ונסיבו ואיתיאו לות דוד ולא אבא למשתיהון ואמר לנסכא יתהון קדם יי:
yy qdm ythhwn lnska wamr lmshthyhwn aba wla dwd lwth waythyaw wnsybw dbthrea lkhm dbyth mgwba mya wmlw plshthay bmshryth gbrya thltha wbzew
The three mighty men broke through the army of the Philistines, and drew water out of the well of Bethlehem that was by the gate and took it and brought it to David; but he would not drink of it, but poured it out to Yahweh.

ואמר חס לי מן קדם יי מלמעבד דא הדס גבריא דאזלו בנפשתהון ולא אבא למשתיהון אלין עבדו תלתא גבריא:
gbrya thltha ebdw alyn lmshthyhwn aba wla bnpshthhwn dazlw gbrya hds da mlmebd yy qdm mn ly khs wamr
He said, “Be it far from me, Yahweh, that I should do this! Isn’t this the blood of the men who risked their lives to go?” Therefore he would not drink it. The three mighty men did these things.

ואבישי אחוהי דיואב בר צרויה הוא ריש גבריא והוא תביב ית מורניתיה על תלת מאה קטילין וליה שום בתלתא גבריא:
gbrya bthltha shwm wlyh qTylyn mah thlth el mwrnythyh yth thbyb whwa gbrya rysh hwa tsrwyh br dywab akhwhy wabyshy
Abishai, the brother of Joab, the son of Zeruiah, was chief of the three. He lifted up his spear against three hundred and killed them, and had a name among the three.

מן גבריא הוה יקיר והוה להון לרבא ולתלת גברין לא מטא:
mTa la gbryn wlthlth lrba lhwn whwh yqyr hwh gbrya mn
Wasn’t he most honorable of the three? Therefore he was made their captain. However he wasn’t included as one of the three.
20
ובניהו בר יהוידע בר גבר דחיל חטאין דיליה עובדין מקבצאל הוא קטל ית תרין רברבי מואב והוא נחת וקטל ית אריא בגו גובא ביומא דתלגא:
dthlga bywma gwba bgw arya yth wqTl nkhth whwa mwab rbrby thryn yth qTl hwa mqbtsal ewbdyn dylyh khTayn dkhyl gbr br yhwyde br wbnyhw
Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, the son of a valiant man of Kabzeel, who had done mighty deeds, killed the two sons of Ariel of Moab. He also went down and killed a lion in the middle of a pit in a time of snow.

והוא קטל ית גברא מצראה גבר דחזוא ובידא דמצראה מורניתא ונחת עלוהי בחוטרא ואניס ית מורניתא מידא דמצראה וקטליה במורניתיה:
bmwrnythyh wqTlyh dmtsrah myda mwrnytha yth wanys bkhwTra elwhy wnkhth mwrnytha dmtsrah wbyda dkhzwa gbr mtsrah gbra yth qTl whwa
He killed a huge Egyptian, and the Egyptian had a spear in his hand; but he went down to him with a staff and plucked the spear out of the Egyptian’s hand, and killed him with his own spear.

אלין עבד בניהו בר יהוידע וליה שום בתלתא גבריא:
gbrya bthltha shwm wlyh yhwyde br bnyhw ebd alyn
Benaiah the son of Jehoiada did these things, and had a name among the three mighty men.
23
מן גבריא יקיר ולתלת גבורן לא מטא ומנייה דוד על משמעתיה:
mshmethyh el dwd wmnyyh mTa la gbwrn wlthlth yqyr gbrya mn
He was more honorable than the thirty, but he didn’t attain to the three. David set him over his guard.
24
עשהאל אחוהי דיואב בגבריא אלחנן בר דודו דמבית לחם:
lkhm dmbyth dwdw br alkhnn bgbrya dywab akhwhy eshhal
Asahel the brother of Joab was one of the thirty: Elhanan the son of Dodo of Bethlehem,

שמה דמן חרוד אליקא דמן חרוד:
khrwd dmn alyqa khrwd dmn shmh
Shammah the Harodite, Elika the Harodite,
26
חלץ דמן פלט עירא בר עקש דמתקוע:
dmthqwe eqsh br eyra plT dmn khlts
Helez the Paltite, Ira the son of Ikkesh the Tekoite,
27
אביעזר דמן ענתות מבני דמן חשת:
khshth dmn mbny enthwth dmn abyezr
Abiezer the Anathothite, Mebunnai the Hushathite,
28
צלמון דמן אחח מהרי דמן נטופת:
nTwpth dmn mhry akhkh dmn tslmwn
Zalmon the Ahohite, Maharai the Netophathite,
29
חלב בר בענה דמנטפת אתי בר ריבי מגבעתא דבני בנימין:
bnymyn dbny mgbetha ryby br athy dmnTpth benh br khlb
Heleb the son of Baanah the Netophathite, Ittai the son of Ribai of Gibeah of the children of Benjamin,
30
בניהו דמפרעתון הדי דמנחלי געש:
gesh dmnkhly hdy dmprethwn bnyhw
Benaiah a Pirathonite, Hiddai of the brooks of Gaash.
31
אבי עלבון דמן ערבת עזמות דמברחם:
dmbrkhm ezmwth erbth dmn elbwn aby
Abialbon the Arbathite, Azmaveth the Barhumite,
32
אליחבא דמשעלבון בני ישן יהונתן:
yhwnthn yshn bny dmshelbwn alykhba
Eliahba the Shaalbonite, the sons of Jashen, Jonathan,
33
שמה דמן הרר טוראה אחיאם בר שרר דמטור גבוה:
gbwh dmTwr shrr br akhyam Twrah hrr dmn shmh
Shammah the Hararite, Ahiam the son of Sharar the Ararite,

אליפלט בר אחסבי בר מעכת אליעם בר אחיתופל גלונאה:
glwnah akhythwpl br alyem mekth br akhsby br alyplT
Eliphelet the son of Ahasbai, the son of the Maacathite, Eliam the son of Ahithophel the Gilonite,

חצרי דמן כרמלא פערי דמן ארב:
arb dmn pery krmla dmn khtsry
Hezro the Carmelite, Paarai the Arbite,
36
יגאל בר נתן דמצובה בני משבט גד:
gd mshbT bny dmtswbh nthn br ygal
Igal the son of Nathan of Zobah, Bani the Gadite,
37
צלק דמבני עמון נחרי דמן בארות נטל זיניה דיואב בר צרויה:
tsrwyh br dywab zynyh nTl barwth dmn nkhry emwn dmbny tslq
Zelek the Ammonite, Naharai the Beerothite, armor bearers to Joab the son of Zeruiah,
